Letter from the Editor

It has been an amazing year! One year ago, when we went to print with our first issue of Golfer Girl Magazine, we didn’t know what kind of reception we would get. Beyond our greatest expectations, you have responded with overwhelming enthusiasm and support. We pledge to continue improving each new issue, making them more informative, more interesting, and more just plain fun!

We are absolutely thrilled to have Cheyenne Woods as the issue’s Cover Girl. I hope you enjoy reading about her as much as we enjoyed talking with her. She is such a sweet girl; her humility and kindness are immediately evident. And with her gene pool, it’s not surprising her golf game is out-of-this-world! Wake Forest University was wise to snatch her up!

Dartmouth College occupies our College Corner this issue. Its location (in Hanover, NH), Ivy League status, great coaching staff, incredible home course and genuinely sweet golfer girls earn an A+ in our grade book.

Linda Hipp is featured in Careers in Golf. She is the Founder, President and Designer of LIJA, makers of fashion forward sports and leisure wear for women. Her successful business has been recognized by Business in Vancouver as one of British Columbia’s 50 Fastest Growing Companies. Linda has created fashionable clothing that allows females to look feminine while feeling comfortable and confident.

Brittany Lincicome gives us an insider’s view of what it’s like to be an LPGA star during her day at the enormous PGA Show in Orlando, FL, and golf celebrity Natalie Gulbis shares her take on a “typical” week on tour.

Our Fashion Pages reflect the spring fever we are all feeling. It’s a time of renewed passion for our beloved game. And while it may be fun to sharpen those skills dulled during the cold, winter months, it’s even more fun to look sharp on the golf course in one of our bright, intricately detailed, super soft outfits!

We want to acknowledge the people on the sidelines who help us so selflessly. AJGA saved the day when we were looking for a cover shot of Cheyenne and the USGA came through for us in a big way with great contact information. Thank you to all the wonderful advertisers, organizations and writers who are so giving of their time and energy!

And thank you for joining in our one-year anniversary celebration. We couldn’t have done it without you!

On behalf of my sisters and me, I hope you enjoy our magazine.
